WOW! I read his book. That is pretty cool.
I was 35 years old when I was finally diagnosed…
Their are so many forms of ADHD/ADD and mine gets worse as I age. Oh well… LOL
Knowing what I have and how to work with it helps the most. In three years I’ve come out of my mental cage… And, embrace my ADHD today.
Excellent video. I use a medicine and methods learned to cope with mine.
I have ADD, diagnosed at 35 and he is awesome. His book is awesome. The meds I take have saved my life
Yeah I hav IT too!!
I recommend his book to everyone! But here in the UK we need better NHS services for people with ADHD so please sign the petition on 10 Downing Street site. Sorry can’t put a link here so do a Google search for “aadd uk petition” to find it . Thanks for your help!! And thanks Dr Hallowell!!
Man I am 21 years old and diagnosed with ADD eversince I was 18. It is very hard living with this disease.
what did you take?
We are all on drugs yeah give me some of that stuff
I think Hallowell is tricking us he is a VERY organized man, ways too organized for ADD. period.
Actually, the first time I went to his office, I was relieved to see his desk was more cluttered than mine. I am sure he has people helping him with scheduling… he often says his wife is the organized one and he is the spur of the moment type. If you have read his books, then you would know that he openly talks about his struggles with ADHD. He is NOT tricking us.
why do you think ritalin and adderall works, it works because it send a mas amount of dopamine, into the brain. people who have add/adhd have low amount of dopamine in the brain, that is what causes the un focus, and sometime depression.
I went to look for some natural food that increase dopamine, levels, and I found out that bananas, beet, chicken, penuts, anything that has high amount of amino acid which helps create dopamine , helps .
How exactly is it a surprise that a prominent doctor running a massive medical practice with many employees is organized? Have you given any thought to the fact that he may not need to organize himself? Also, I’m interested in where you’re getting the idea that he’s organized. Even if he is, he might not be doing it himself. Try not to be so closed minded.
that isnt really true. the medications are able to break through the blood brain barrier. everyday foods cannot. if a food COULD break the barrier then it would be considered a drug.
why are you people arguing and the organizational abilities of a doctor? are you guys really that bored?
YES, when they are used properly. people give it to there children as a way to stop them from being hyperactive, not helping them concentrate, and some dont take into account that there could be other factors the kids are hyperactive.
Where did it say he was organized? being a doctor doesnt mean he is organized, albert einstein had add and was a very unorganized person, and look at how smart he is. organization with add can vary on the person, there is always some level of disorganization, having a low one doesnt mean you do not have ADD. And he could also be the kind of ADD person that has to task everything and has to constantly remind himself with some kind of note or schedule.you should some research on this
