Love it or hate it Christmas shopping is something the majority of us are resigned to doing. But when you have to find a Christmas gift for an astrology enthusiast it can prove even more of a challenge. Here are a few ideas for choosing unusual Christmas gifts that, while targeting star sign devotees, are actually applicable to anyone who is difficult to buy for.

It may be you enjoy the frenzy of gift shopping each year. I hate it. I am too busy for Christmas shopping and have things I would much prefer to do. So I really do not need the additional hassle of hunting for a gift for someone with an interest I know little about, such as the zodiac.

But with a tight Christmas budget, shortage of time and no idea what presents to buy, I need to get a little creative, particularly when hunting for a Christmas gift for a star sign enthusiast.

While still relevant to our zodiac enthusiast, let's generalize and look at the vital characteristics of unusual Christmas gifts?

1. It should be unusual - not the same old slippers, chocolate, smellies etc
2. It should be affordable by the giver
3. It should NOT look crummy to the receiver - excellent if it's impossible that they can guess the cost
4. It should be practical or (take your pick) totally frivolous
5. It should be something they have always wanted
and/or
6. It should be something they would never think to buy for themselves
7. It should be easy to buy (on the Internet is best for me, I have no desire to wait in line for hours to buy this year's latest fad gadget)
8. It would be great (but not compulsory) if it gave something to chat about instead of the Christmas TV
