In the family room you may use a coffee table that has a compartment inside it to keep things. The same for decorated boxes which could be used as end tables. In the bedrooms, you have many choices. For the kids' rooms, there are toy boxes accessible which could double as window seats. Is there space under the bed? That's always a great place for containers, and a means to keep things safe, but yet still out of the way, thus making the bedroom appear decluttered.
