This memory option allocates 1500 titles with no illustrations over the 200 that the first Kindle can store. On account of the large internal memory, Amazon opted not to put in an SD expansion slot to the Kindle 2.

Rapid Functioning - Amazon had faster operation in mind when they created this second version of the Kindle wireless reading device. Page-restoring is much faster and it houses a much faster CPU than its first version. There is now global release of the Kindle 2 that runs in more than a hundred other countries. The only official difference in the International version is that it accesses an alternative network than the US versions.

Other advantages of the new Kindle include a better pointing device, finer image, a Whispersync option and a text to speak function.
