I’m in a photography class in senior high right right away but we habituate picture SLR’s, but i stock still want to buy digital one. I wouldn’t utilise the digital single for the class but but to rehearse becoming a better photographer. Should i hold off till the ending of the semester when the class is done or buy the photographic camera now?

Oh, and my son is wicked at school, meds or not, A student!!! I believe its bipolar or personality disorder he has. He hates taking adderall. At night, he has to constantly move his pinky finger, he cant help it, drives him nuts. He picks at his fingers and nails. He was blinking alot but that has stopped. He is now doing alot of clearing the throat and jerking his head back. Im quite pissed off actually. Im saddened that this medication has done this to him and I want him off of them and maybe try something else. Without medication, he will severly hurt my 2 yr old. He doesnt realize he does these things at the time, but again, with meds , its a bit better ..just not the right meds yet.

I am a Mom with a 9yr old boy who was diagnosed with ADHD, we have been thru 4 different meds. Currently on 25 mg of adderall. I dont believe he has adhd, i believe he has bipolar or personality disorder. This medication is making my son have terrible "tics" which I think has now turned into full blown Tourette's Syndrome. This was a tough choice to try meds, but when he is off of adderall he is very distructive, abusive and cannot control himself. On meds, these are not as bad. He is also on Resperidone to help with behaviour...we are in the process of having him fully tested at a childrens hospital to pinpoint exactly what is going on. Im willing to bet its not adhd. I cannot totally cut out the adderal, needs to be done slowly or he is totally ballistic, unpredictable to a point and will definately get himself into trouble outside of the house. I have lots more info but not sure enuf room here for that...

You may want to suggest he see a doctor but not be specific about the Adult ADHD. If he isn't experiencing any discomfort, it might be hard to get him to see a doctor. Good Luck.

If you want a prescription, you can see a psychiatrist or your primary care physician. Either one can give a diagnosis, and both can prescribe medication. A psychiatrist will most likely have more experience with ADHD, and will allow for longer office visits. Although a child psychiatrist may be more well-versed in ADHD, as more and more adults are diagnosed with the disorder, more general psychiatrists are expanding their knowledge-base.

If you are looking for more than just medication, I would recommend a psychologist. Psychologists are often better trained in counseling than psychiatrists, and are often more willing to try treatments in addition to, or besides, medication. A psychologist can also often work with your PCP to get you the medication you need.

Good for you for looking for evidence.
"wheat free diet" is a very common recommendation of naturopaths for all kinds of ailments. It seems to be one of their standard treatments of a wide variety of conditions. There is no good evidence of the benefits of a gluten free diet, except in the case of Celiac Disease, where one lacks the enzymes needed to break down gluten.

Cochrane has nothing on ADHD and gluten, but there is a sytematic review on Autism and gluten
http://www.cochrane.org/reviews/en/ab003498.html
The fact that an organization like Cochrane, which scours the world for published studies has nothing, suggests that there is no compelling evidence, and that your naturopaths suggestion is based more on ideology.

A gluten free diet is very expensive and difficult to maintain, as gluten is found in all sorts of foods.

Sadly, yes, it's true. My husband has ADHD and his doc told him that the med she could put him on is alot like meth. But my hubby had a big prob with meth eons ago, so that wouldn't be a solution. She told him to take omegas (fish oil) everyday instead.
